Cinema with Us 2019 [YIDFF 2019: Oct 10-17]

Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival 2019 (Oct 10-17) has successfully ended. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in our festival.

In this year's  Cinema with Us program, we featured five new documentary films on the 3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake and its aftermath, while we introduced seven important works from Taiwan regarding the victims affected by the 921 Earthquake happened in 1999 and Typhoon Morakot in 2009.  We also held one discussion session titled "Living with Disasters: Current Documentary Film Practice in Taiwan and Japan", inviting filmmakers and researchers from both countries. The total admission of the screening programs counted 544, while one related discussion attracted 39 participants.
