IKITEKOSO
生きてこそ
Abiko Wataru
Japan/74min./2013
This work focuses on the precious culture called "story in Aizu", which was handed down by word of mouth from generation to generation in Fukushima for over three hundreds years. It tells the story of an "age-old Aizu dialect", which is no longer used among the younger generation, and the central figure (of this project), Yamada Toshimi, has added a warm and humorous touch to it. What is storytelling? What do you pass on through storytelling? How do people think of their lives now, having received a lesson from the 3.11 earthquake and the nuclear accident? Through this film, I wish to convey the feelings of a hundred thousand people, who have lost their homes in Fukushima.
