The World after Fukushima
Le monde apres Fukushima
Watanabe Kenichi
France/86min./2013
This film is a large-scale investigation into the state of our civilisation, filmed in the present, on several continents. It will be composed of questions concerning the disaster, fear of nature, nuclear civilisation, human responsibility, the State, and the growing awareness of the state of industrialised societies. This is a choral film in which we will hear the voices of Fukushima evacuees (farmers, families and engineers) and the thoughts of political theorists, philosophers, writers, scientists, sociologists and historians.
Fukushima, an environmental and human disaster which crystalized all of the anxieties of the planet, is the departure point for this investigation because it symbolises the contradictions of a poorly controlled system.
